Typically, the position of vehicles to be monitored must be determined with an accuracy of a few cm only. Real time tracking is necessary to allow dynamic processes to immediately address deviations from the intended routing.
Apart from dynamic tracking, there are also applications to position vehicles that do not move - e.g. cars on a large parking lot.
LPR sensors determine position, orientation and speed of movement
On buildings, fences, columns or lightpoles, transponders can be installed as reference marks with approx 400 m range. A base station on the vehicle computes the position, orientation and speed of the vehicle and provides this data in real-time for manual steering corrections or automatic navigation of an AGV (automatic guided vehicle).
Symeo´s highly reliable positioning engine operates contact-free in real-time with high repeat rates to allow smooth control algorithms. Tracking works indoor and outdoor under all weather and ambient conditions.
In case an accuracy of about 1m is sufficient, the Symeo D-GPS receivers can be applied for outdoor applications with good GPS satellite reception. The combined LPR/D-GPS receiver can also use LPR transpondes as a reference and provides seamless position information even in shielded areas and indoor.
Any vehicle on land, on water or in the air can be positioned, regardless of how it is propelled.
