Reliable position detection and flexible, configurable software for anti-collision applications
A reliable anti-collision system for protecting objects, vehicles and personnel requires first and foremost the capability to continually detect the distance between and position of all participants. Symeo collision warning applications do not require any centrally operated software. The objects included in the anti-collision system can independently trigger local warnings or motion stops using the available position measurement data. The system creates and automatically adapts a dynamic safety zone based on the movement speed.
For the position detection, the system utilizes the proven Symeo LPR® and D-GNSS solutions. Existing position detection systems can also be integrated. The anti-collision software, which runs on the decentralized units, has been successfully deployed in environments such as container terminals and steel manufacturing plants.
As an optional feature, orientation assistance for vehicle and crane operators is available in the form of an easy-to-comprehend visualization of the vehicle position and surrounding obstacles. A tiered system of optical and acoustic warnings notifies drivers of potential collision situations.
The decentralized anti-collision units can store movement data on a central server. Although not operations-relevant, this information can be used for the post-hoc analysis of vehicle movements in case collision warnings are generated.
