Press release: Symeo creates new subsidiary for Eastern Europe

Greater customer proximity and on-site management

Neubiberg (Germany), March 23, 2017 –
Symeo GmbH, global radar expert for position and environment detection, anti-collision and wireless data management, has created its first subsidiary. Symeo Sp. z o.o. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Symeo with headquarters in Katowice, Poland. The new company will be responsible for Eastern Europe, initially covering Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ukraine and Belarus.

Krzysztof Weidl, former Symeo distributor in Poland, terminated his distributor activities to take over the reins as managing director of the new subsidiary. The Polish team recently moved into the new office space in Katowice – center of the largest metropolitan area in Poland and the Silesian Province and a city with roots in the mining and metallurgy industry. The new subsidiary is responsible for all sales and customer service activities in the selected Eastern European regions.

Greater customer proximity, more comprehensive on-site management

The new subsidiary is the result of growing international demand from Eastern Europe and creates greater customer proximity, in addition to ensuring that customers receive on-site management tailored to their needs. "We created Symeo Sp. z o.o. in order to be even closer to the customer and to have an optimal presence in the Eastern European market with our core radio-based sensor systems. Our aim is to be able to shorten customer response times and provide better on-site customer service," says Dirk Brunnengräber, CEO at Symeo GmbH.

Initial success in the coke and mining industry

"As the first subsidiary of Symeo GmbH, we look forward to expanding the company's presence in Eastern Europe. We will rely on increased sales of the Symeo radar-based systems for reliable position detection, distance measurements and anti-collision services, particularly in the metals, steel, mining, coke and cement industries," explains Krzysztof Weidl, Managing Director of Symeo Sp. z o.o..

The new company already recorded its first success with several projects, such as the implementation of a collision warning system for quenching cars in a Polish coke plant and the implementation of a bulk material management system. Both projects were carried out for ArcelorMittal Poland, which is part of the international steelmaker ArcelorMittal.
