The solution enables safe distance measurement based on redundant radar sensors. Their measurement values are plausibility-checked in a function block certified to EN ISO 13849 PLd, implemented on a failsafe Siemens PLC. Manufacturers can therefore rely on a certified solution when developing functionally safe hoists. This reduces development effort and simplifies the safety-related verification within the approval process.
